Mike Orzen

“Τhe Father of Lean IT”, Founder & President, Mike Orzen & Associates

Mike Orzen is a life-longer practitioner of Lean IT - learning and applying Lean thinking for over twenty-five years. He is the coauthor of the pioneering books Lean IT and The Lean IT Field Guide. Called “the Father of Lean IT,” his focus on connecting with people, leading with respect and leveraging technology has positively impacted hundreds of organizations.

He was awarded the Shingo Prize for the book Lean IT and was a contributor to ITIL 4: High-Velocity IT.

After applying Lean process improvement in many industries including insurance, banking, healthcare, IT, manufacturing, apparel and aerospace, Mike realized that technology-driven flow of value is the common factor that all organizations must master to remain relevant and competitive. As such Lean IT, Agile and DevOps have become his passion!

Mike is a faculty member with The Ohio State University Fisher School of Business, the Lean Enterprise and Fellow with The Shingo Institute. He is on the editorial committee for the Lean IT Association (LITA). His contributions to LITA, the DevOps Institute (DOI) and The DevOps and Agile Skills Association (DASA) demonstrate his thought leadership.
